FairDinkum News

Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 July 2026

These terms govern access to and use of FairDinkum News. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or continuing to use the service, you agree to them.

1. Service and eligibility

FairDinkum aggregates headlines, source attribution, links, and short publisher previews and provides source context, coverage comparison, saved reading, community tools, and optional AI assessments. Publisher articles remain on publisher sites.

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding access to your account, and notifying support promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. You may not impersonate another person or use the service unlawfully.

3. Free, Pro, and Analyst

Core reading is available on Free. Pro and Analyst are optional auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock additional features. The store checkout shows the applicable local price, billing period, introductory-offer eligibility, and renewal terms before purchase.

Subscriptions are managed through the applicable app store and RevenueCat entitlement service. You may cancel through the store account settings. Access normally continues through the paid or trial period, subject to store status, grace periods, refunds, and applicable law. Restore requires a signed-in FairDinkum account. Under the launch provider policy, restoring the same store receipt through a different signed-in FairDinkum account transfers paid access to the restoring account and revokes it from the previous account. A store subscription may unlock only one FairDinkum account at a time and must not be shared.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

4. Publisher content and source context

Third-party publisher content remains the property of its respective owner. FairDinkum does not claim ownership of publisher articles and does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or completeness of third-party reporting.

A publisher baseline is context, not a verdict on an article. Coverage breadth shows who is reporting a story, not whether a claim is true.

5. AI features

AI summaries, comparisons, fact-check assessments, and other generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unavailable. They are informational assessments, not definitive truth, original reporting, or professional legal, medical, or financial advice.

Review the evidence, limitations, generated-time receipt, and original sources before relying on an output. Normal-use limits, safety controls, provider availability, and tier requirements apply.

6. User content and moderation

Registered users may submit comments, reports, reactions, votes, and profile information. You retain ownership of your content and grant FairDinkum a non-exclusive licence to host, display, moderate, and process it as needed to operate and secure the service.

Do not submit unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, privacy-invasive, infringing, malicious, or deliberately deceptive material. Users can report content and block abusive profiles. Automated safety rules and authorised moderators may restrict content or accounts and retain audit records for safety, appeals, disputes, and legal duties.

7. Acceptable use and intellectual property

You must not attack or disrupt the service, gain unauthorised access, transmit malware, harvest personal information, spam users, manipulate community systems, or scrape the service without permission.

FairDinkum's software, design, original analysis, source-context methodology, graphics, and branding are owned by or licensed to FairDinkum. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app in accordance with these terms.

8. Privacy, deletion, and termination

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. You may stop using the app and request account deletion. Deleting your FairDinkum account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, and store billing may continue until you cancel through the applicable store. Manage or cancel store billing before deletion if you do not want it to renew; immediate FairDinkum account deletion remains available after this warning. Some synchronisation, moderation, abuse-prevention, billing, legal, and backup records may be retained for a limited period where reasonably necessary.

We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, unlawful activity, fraud, threats to users, or serious service abuse. Store subscription rights and non-excludable consumer rights continue to apply as required by law.

9. Availability and liability

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or the accuracy of third-party or AI-generated content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FairDinkum is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.

10. Changes, law, and contact

Material changes will be identified in the app or another reasonable notice. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and Australia, subject to rights that apply in your location.
